Awards Night on Friday, November 8

OUR end-of-season Players’ Awards Night will be held at the Vestacare Stadium on the evening of Friday, November 8.

It will be similar in format to previous years, but an added attraction this time will be an appearance as Music Man and DJ by the inimitable Ritchie ‘Titch’ Hawkyard, whose heroics at full-back last season earned him a place in the hearts of Roughyeds fans and contributed hugely to the team’s promotion to the Betfred Championship.

He wasn’t on his own by any means and there will be several candidates for each of the individual trophies on offer.

As always, we need the votes of fans to determine who wins the Supporters’ Player-of-the-Year award and with little time at our disposal we ask for nominations to be made online, like last year, by midnight on Friday, November 1.

Vote for your Player of the Year but please be aware of the November 1 cut-off point.

Fans who don’t have access to the internet can post their nomination to: Players’ Awards, Oldham RLFC, Vestacare Stadium, Whitebank Road, Limehurst Village, Oldham OL8 3JH (giving your name, address and contact number) or drop an envelope into the office by hand between 10am and 3pm on Friday (Oct 25), Monday (Oct 28), Wednesday (Oct 30) or Friday (Nov 1).

We will look back on Scott Naylor’s last year in charge which finished with 11 wins from the last 12 games — and a wonderful Promotion Final.

The ever-popular tombola and stand-up bingo will feature, but nothing will compare with the various award ceremonies.

It promises to be a fabulous Roughyeds evening with the price of a ticket, £15, including a pie and mash supper with a vegetarian option.
