Join Our League for Free and Help Your Club

AT a time when, stricken by the pandemic, the entire economy is taking a pounding – and sport in its widest sense is inevitably fighting for its life – Oldham RLFC has again launched a campaign to get as many local people as possible signing up for ‘Our League’, the RFL’s FREE membership app for all things rugby league.

It features live streamed games, prizes, a full match centre, news, interviews and exclusive discounts. It costs not a penny to join, but the more membership figures we get the more we receive in central funding at a critical time when, like all clubs, we are well down on income.

The slogan used to be, ‘Every minute matters’. More relevant right now would be, ‘Every penny counts’.

Given that ‘Our League’ is FREE to fans but hugely beneficial to the club, we are urging all our fans who have access to the internet to sign up please and also to encourage neighbours, relatives, friends and workmates to follow suit.

The entire town will be all the better for a successful Oldham RLFC and now is the time, especially when we are talking about an initiative that’s FREE to join, for Oldhamers to fly the flag and mount a collective effort to carry the club up the league table of ‘Our League’ memberships.

Latest figures show that, of the 25 Championship and League One clubs, we currently lie in mid-table with 2,441 registered members and a 12th-place rating.

Dewsbury Rams, one place higher with 2,505 members, are only 64 ahead and can be easily caught.

The flip side to that is that Whitehaven, one place and only seven members behind us, are breathing down our neck and will clearly have targeted a push to go above us.

Bradford Bulls are out in front, followed by Leigh, Widnes and Featherstone.

Barrow Raiders are the leading League 1 club in seventh spot overall and there’s another League One club also higher than Roughyeds in Doncaster, who have 2,702 members.

Hull KR fan Paul Murphy recently became Our League member No 150,000 and record numbers of fans are now playing the exclusive Our League Predictor game which offers members the chance to win up to £75,000 and many other prizes by predicting the outcomes of Betfred Super League games.

Said the RFL’s Mark Foster: “Our League this year was set to stream a record number of matches from across the sport. For obvious reasons that hasn’t happened, yet membership numbers continue to grow because of what the app has to offer in terms of experience and engagement.

“If you’re not already an Our League member sign up today. You also start earning points in the Rewards4RugbyLeague loyalty programme and help yourself to fantastic savings on the best events in the sport.”

The Our League app was a finalist in the Best Fan Engagement Programme category at the 2019 Sports Business Awards and was also short-listed for ‘Best Fan/Community Engagement’ at the BT Sports Industry Awards.

Subscription is FREE and the app is widely available via app stores and at rugby-league.com/ourleague.

The attention of Roughyeds fans who wish to sign up is drawn to the section which asks them which club they support — vital information to provide if memberships are to be allocated to the Oldham club.
