ROUGHYEDS fans can stand by for the release of 2022 season-ticket details next week.
There are ten home league games at the Vestacare Stadium in Betfred League One this year, headed by what are sure to be full-of-passion derby clashes against Swinton Lions and our old enemy from across the M62, Rochdale Hornets.
Visits to the Vestacare by Keighley Cougars, Doncaster, London Skolars, North Wales Crusaders and Hunslet will also attract considerable interest, while there will be no shortage of curiosity value when new club Cornwall and rebranded Midlands Hurricanes, formerly Coventry, also come to town.
The fixture list will be completed by West Wales as new coach Stu Littler and his men strive to take Roughyeds as high up the table as they can on the club’s return to their Oldham base after two seasons out of town at Stalybridge.
Councillor Ginny Alexander, a former Mayor of Oldham and wife of Oldham’s former prop Adrian Alexander, has taken to social media to urge her fellow Oldhamers to get behind the Roughyeds in what is effectively a new start for the club with the arrival of John Roddy as vice-chairman, Stu Littler as coach, no fewer than 17 new players and a new Supporters’ Club, The YEDS.
A new crowd capacity for the Vestacare has to be established in conjunction with Oldham Council and the Rugby Football League and it will be worked out by Ground Safety Officer Dave Cardall.
Full details of season-ticket sales will be announced next week and will be available to purchase online as soon as everything is completed and rubber-stamped by all parties.
