OUR head coach Stuart Littler has welcomed the return of scrums, which will be back for the first time in nearly two years when we play NCL premier division side Lock Lane in the second round of the Challenge Cup at the Vestacare Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 6pm.
“I’m happy about that. There are some new technicalities which mean we will be very similar to the NRL, but we’ve been working on them. We are ready to go,”
said Littler, who is looking forward to Sunday evening and to his first “real” game in charge after joining the club last Autumn.
We brought you an RFL story on the return of scrums a little more than a week ago, but with Sunday’s cup-tie in mind and the prospects of another atmospheric rugby league occasion under floodlights, we thought a reminder would be beneficial.

Also, another reminder that fans CAN pay at the turnstiles to get in and then, if they wish, transfer to seats.
Prices are as follows:
Adults £12, concessions £11, students (with ID) £3, under-16s FREE.
Prices for transfer to seats: adults and concessions £2, students £2, under-16s £3.
Tickets will be available online for every home game this season, but we still have facilities FOR FANS TO PAY AT THE TURNSTILES.
Those who have bought, or will buy, tickets in advance online can show them on their smartphones; they don’t need to print them off.

Sunday evening’s tie marks the opening of the 2022 season for the Roughyeds squad, who say they hope you enjoyed your visit to the Vestacare for the Wakefield friendly last week.
Like everyone else with warm feelings for a club that truly represents OLDHAM, the players hope to see as many of you as possible at the game and, even more importantly, to hear you, like they did in the 24-24 draw against a young, but very talented, Wakefield side.
