The Yeds Supporters Group, in association with Oldham RLFC and local and national charities, are seeking your help with donations of clothes and toys for the children of Ukraine.
Millions of Ukrainian citizens are fleeing from their homes for the safety of other countries. Families have been torn apart by war, mothers and children leaving their partners and parents to fight for their freedom.
Children fled the safety of their homes, leaving their toys behind, fleeing the bombing in the clothes they were wearing when they had to run from the war.
Rugby League is about inclusiveness and togetherness and we at the YEDS can’t stand by and simply not support the people of Ukraine.
Sunday’s opening Betfred League One match against the Keighley Cougars at the Vestacare Stadium is an ideal opportunity for all supporters to consider donating whatever they can.
We have liaised with the Ukrainian Church in Oldham and the local authority to establish what items are required for the children.
If you can donate children’s clothing, toys (boxed and in a good condition) or simply drop a couple of quid into the collection bucket on Sunday we can make a small difference to the life of a Ukrainians refugee in the UK.
The YEDS will have a collection point inside the ground on Sunday for all your donations.
Thank you in advance.
Your YEDS Supporters’ Group.
