The story behind Baimbridge Flooring Ltd's sponsorship deal

THERE’S a story behind Baimbridge Flooring Ltd’s sponsorship of our game against Doncaster last Sunday . . . and it’s all wrapped up with one of our players, young Sean Slater.

The 20-year-old half or hooker, a former captain of the Huddersfield Giants Academy side and a young player who has operated for England youth under Paul Sculthorpe, signed for us last Autumn and has since played numerous games for us at either hooker or half-back.

Although Oldham born and bred, he has lived in Huddersfield for many years and played all his early rugby at Moldgreen.

Baimbridge Flooring Company, which does business nationwide, has big connections in Huddersfield and with the Moldgreen club.

Company director Andrew Baimbridge, a rugby league fan and one of three Moldgreen coaches to have worked with Sean, heard the youngster was talking to Roughyeds and promised to sponsor one of our games if Sean signed.

He did sign — and the rest is history.

The company kept its promise and had a table in our hospitality suite last Sunday with a party which was led by Andrew and included two more Moldgreen coaches as well as Sean’s brother and father.

It was a double for Andrew, pictured above with Roger Halstead receiving a raffle prize shortly after he had received, on behalf of his company, a rugby ball autographed by the Roughyeds squad.

If YOU want to be part of the club’s hospitality experience at the North Wales Crusaders game on Sunday, July 31, when we will also have ex-players in there, please ring the club on 07904 898177.
