BECAUSE of catering requirements etc we need to put a deadline on bookings for our end-of-season presentation night, which will take place a week on Friday, September 30 at the Oldham Event Centre, Boundary Park (access off Broadway on to the large car park), 7.30pm start.
As an undoubted highlight of the club’s social year, it promises to be very well attended and that’s another reason why we have set midnight next TUESDAY as the cut-off point for purchasing tickets, which need to be done on our tickets page.
It goes without saying that, in each case, you don’t have to wait until a few minutes before deadline. The sooner tickets are purchased and/or POY votes cast the better for all concerned, including the organisers. So please bear that in mind.
All the usual awards will be presented, plus a new one for the best new prospect.
The cost of tickets is only £10 and supper is included.
Tickets are available online and must be purchased in advance before midnight on Tuesday, as referred to previously.
These really are good nights, as anyone who has been to previous ones will testify, and this year we particularly want to make it a memorable one, given that 2022 was our 25th season since Oldham Bears was replaced by Oldham RLFC in time for the 1998 season
Most of our players last season were new to the club, as was head coach Stu Littler and most of the backroom staff, so it’s a ‘first’ for them, as swell as for vice-chairman John Roddy, so let’s give them a taste of Roughyeds’ hospitality and show them how well we can do ‘social’ once the season is over and the boys are no longer playing rugby.
Let’s pack the place, have a fantastic night, give the boys the support they deserve for winning five of the last seven to reach the play-offs and show them what YEDS fans are made of.
