Rangers in triple trophy triumph

SADDLEWORTH Rangers enjoyed a clean sweep of the available trophies at the Oldham Amateur Rugby League’s Youth and Junior Cup Finals, held on Sunday at Waterhead ARLFC.

They beat Oldham St Anne’s 22-0 in the under-12s Final; beat the same opponents 18-4 in the under-14s Final; and then accounted for Limehurst Lions 38-14 in the under-15s Final.

In each Final, Rangers also had the official man of the match, namely Charlie Fallows (under-12s), Oliver Kipling (under-14s) and the No.7 in the under-15s Final.

Congratulations to Rangers and to all the players in the three finals – winners and losers – for winning through to the big day and for representing their clubs with pride and purpose.

It again proved the strength of the youth game in Oldham and that’s down to the youngsters who play, their parents or guardians who take them to training and games, their clubs which provide opportunities and, perhaps most of all, their coaches who do such a sterling job to develop their young charges both as players and as people.

Well done everyone!
