Regular Tuesday meet-up for Rugby League fans

RUGBY League fans – players, former players, supporters of ’the greatest game’ be they fans of the pro game or the community game – are invited to a new, weekly get-together for chat and socialising in the bar at Heyside Cricket Club, starting next Tuesday. October 18, from 12.30pm until 2.30 pm.

It’s the brainchild of Joe Warburton and Chris Churm and although everyone is welcome and all will be greeted with open arms, it is principally designed for rugby league folk from Oldham and surrounding areas. especially those of a certain age with tales to tell and experiences to relive of the so-called “good old days”.

Said Joe:

“I can’t stress enough that this is for anyone who would like to join us, but given that it’s Tuesday in the middle of the day, we realise a lot of people will be working.

“Nevertheless, there are great numbers of men and women who we think would love to talk about rugby over a few drinks once a week.”

He added:

“It will be a chance for friends to enjoy each others’ company for a couple of hours each week. We will establish numbers over the first few Tuesdays and make it a regular gathering if there is sufficient interest,”

There will be no charge to get in, but anyone planning to attend is asked to register their interest please by speaking to Joe on 07882 848340 or to Chris on 07919 691655 or drop them a message via Facebook or Messenger.

Anyone reading this is asked to draw it to the attention of others.
