SAMOAN International winger Patrick Ah Van is excited at the prospect of facing his old club Widnes Vikings in pre-season.
The 34-year-old, who scored 95 tries and 73 goals in 123 games during his time at the Vikings, is looking forward to the match that kicks off on January 22, 3.00pm.
Said Ah Van:
“I was excited when Stu (head coach Stuart Littler) told us we’d be playing Widnes. Most of the young fellas who were there when I was there have all come back to the club, so it’ll be good to see them all again.
“Widnes have established themselves as a strong championship side so we’ll be able to get a good feel for where we are at as a team.”

Despite being 34, Ah Van is still a quality player at this level having scored 22 tries in 44 appearances over the last two years playing for North Wales Crusaders.
He has bags of experience having played in the NRL, Super League and for Samoa at International level.
And it was after hearing Stuart Littler’s plans for the club that Ah Van decided he wanted to be a Roughyed.
Said Ah Van:
“I felt like I needed a change as I’d been in the same routine. Stu messaged me about coming here, and after hearing what he has planned for the future I wanted to be part of it.”
