Littler urges fans to join club on journey

OUR head coach Stuart Littler has urged Roughyeds fans to back the lads for the upcoming 2023 Betfred League One season.

Season tickets are currently on sale, with our first home game against London Skolars kicking off on March 5, 3pm.

Said Stuart Littler:

“We’re trying to build the club both on and off the pitch and I’d like to think the quality of the side has gone up a level and we need fans to back us with their support.

“We’re going on a journey this year and it’s going to be a special journey. A lot are going to be excited once the season starts.

“I’d like to thank the fans for the support they’ve given us since I’ve started at the club. All throughout last year they stood by the boys and it really means something to the group.

“I can speak from not being out of playing for too long — at certain times, they can lift you and there’s nothing better when you’re defending your line and the fans get right behind you.

“We’re trying to create something at Oldham and we have a big family ethos - fans are part of that family and we need them with us on this journey.”

Fans need to act fast to secure their tickets — which offer a saving of £20 on normal matchday prices — as the offer ends on December 31. You can buy them on our ticketing page.

Alternatively you can call the office on 07904 898177 between 9–5pm Monday to Friday.

Stu has also heaped praise on physio Lee Cholmondeley and strength and conditioning coach Daniel Bedford with pre-season in full-swing as the club prepares for the upcoming 2023 season.

He said:

“The new staff who’ve come in have integrated really well. Lee is making sure the lads are touching different markers be it pre-hab or rehab.

“Lee’s hit the ground running and is getting the lads in the right position and being proactive in preventing injuries rather than reacting.

“Dan has added value and given the lads sessions to get on with away from training.

“As a staff, we’re all challenging each other to be better and making sure we’re covering all the details needed.”

Lee Cholmondeley and Daniel Bedford are working closely with Tommy Brierley, who is still recovering from his long-term injury suffered last March, and Stu is excited to see him back on the training field.

Added Stu:

“We’re delighted to see Tommy back on the field - he’s only doing straight line running at this moment in time but it’s part of the process and we’re excited to have him back on the field.”
