AFTER serving a four-match ban, Emmerson Whittel goes straight into Stuart Littler’s 21-man squad to face North Wales Crusaders this Sunday, 2:30pm kick off.
Littler has also brought in Logan Astley and retains Alex Sutton on dual-registration from Wigan Warriors.
Astley returns to the club after he impressed in his first stint last year when he scored seven tries in his five appearances with the club.
Littler has kept hold of Sutton after he impressed last time out when he scored a try in the 62-18 victory over London Skolars on March 5.
James Thornton is serving his one match ban which he incurred against Doncaster last month and thus drops out.
Dom Newton, who picked up an injury during the warm-up against Wigan Academy last month, doesn’t make the squad but returned to training yesterday and will soon be back in contention.
Tommy Brierley sits out the North Wales game, but he is now back in full training and able to take part in contact after progressing well since his leg fracture and ACL rupture at the start of last season.
Said head coach Stuart Littler:
“It’s going to be a challenge, but it’s one we are excited for. They’ve been a very competent side in the last few years and I know they have had a tough start but they have played some top teams.
“It will be a good marker of where we are at, as a group, and we need to put our best foot forward and show we can play some consistent rugby.”
