Women's Assistant Coach Vacancy

OLDHAM RLFC is looking for an assistant coach to support the head coach of the club’s newly-established Women’s team.

Plans for the Women’s side are moving at a pace since the club’s first training session last month.

Sessions have stepped up with players now training for starting places and the successful applicant will work alongside head coach Ste Fitzmartin to assist with training and the team selection process.

The team now trains at Clayton Playing Fields near Boundary Park and has been admitted into the RFL’s Development League, with the view to playing matches in the near future.

Sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday between 6pm and 7pm and anybody interested in playing for the club should email oldhamwomenrlfc@outlook.com or contact us on social media.

Reporting to: Women’s Head Coach

Responsible for: Players

Working with: Head Coach and Strength and Conditioning coach

General Description:

To assist with the coaching and development of the team through outstanding coaching practice. To work alongside the Women’s Head Coach in planning and delivering training sessions, as well as assisting in the development of players’ skills; implementing the club’s coaching philosophy and providing necessary feedback to players.

Main Duties:

  • To assist and contribute to the implementation of training sessions.

  • To work with the Head Coach to create and implement game strategies and tactics.

  • To assist in the monitoring and evaluation of individual player performance.

  • To assist in providing feedback to individual players and the team, both written and verbal.

  • To build a strong relationship with players and staff to help create a positive, player centred learning environment.

  • To assist with and help deliver long-term player development plans.

  • To contribute to team selection and assist with pre and post match team reviews.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have the RFL level 1 (or above) coaching qualification.
