Chairmans message to fans

CLUB chairman Bill Quinn has issued the following message to Roughyeds supporters ahead of our two very important games at Workington on Sunday and against unbeaten league leaders Dewsbury Rams at the Vestacare Stadium the following Sunday when EVERYONE will get in FREE so long as they obtain a ticket online via our website ticketing page, which you can do NOW.

Bill and the board wish to make it clear that this FREE, all-ticket arrangement has to be done this way, as opposed to opening the turnstiles and letting everyone in, so that the club has some control on numbers relative to ground-safety capacities and the like.

This is what Bill had to say:

“Hi everyone,

“Firstly, can I say a really big thank-you to everyone for your kind words and messages since it was announced that I was back as chairman.

“Well, I’m so glad to be back; there is such a great and exciting future now for this great club and its supporters,

“The board comprises a fantastic group of like-minded individuals, all pulling in the same direction.

“We are setting a precedent by showing supporters we’re transparent. We want you all to feel part of the club, as demonstrated by the fact that we will soon stage our first Q and A forum when we will reaffirm our intention to keep everyone updated on a regular basis.

“I’m sure I will see some of you guys up at Workington. We then have the anticipated Dewsbury home game. This is free admission for all through the online ticket scheme.

“The directors took the decision on free admission to show supporters what they mean to us and how important they are to the future of the club.

“We are also holding a bucket collection at the Dewsbury game for local Foodbanks and the club will match whatever the collection produces. We are well aware of the hardships we are living through
and that there are people at the heart of our community who are in real need. We wish to do our bit to help and this is one way we can do it.

“Please keep an eye out for lots more announcements and initiatives going forward. All the very best from myself and the board.”
