ONLY eight weeks in and the new owners of Oldham RLFC held their first open fans’ forum on Tuesday night at Boundary Park.
Following the promise made in their takeover press release, a full room saw supporters take the opportunity to pose questions to the board of directors and to coach Stuart Littler.
Managing director Mike Ford opened proceedings with an impassioned speech about the club’s vision. When the rapturous applause finally died down, coach Stuart Littler certainly had a difficult act to follow. However, his review of the season so far, and hopes for the remainder, was equally well received before the floor was then opened to supporters.
Director Simon Winnard said:
“I hope supporters enjoyed the evening as much as we did. It was very much an open conversation with supporters, which is exactly what we were hoping for. It was fantastic to see so many people attend. The enthusiasm and positivity in the room was palpable and that’s given us real encouragement to continue what we’ve started in this first eight weeks.”
