One-match bans for Kibula and Morgan

ALTHOUGH they have received one-match bans for grade ‘C’ offences in our 62-14 win at London Skolars last Saturday, on-loan forward Samy Kibula and centre Kian Morgan will be free to play in Sunday’s potentially mouth-watering clash, 3 v 2, Oldham v Doncaster, at the Vestacare Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

The bans, issued by the RFL’s Match Review Panel and released publicly by the governing body today, along with several others, means Kibula and Morgan will not be available for our clash with top-of-the-table Dewsbury Rams at their Flair Stadium on Friday night next week, June 23, kick-off 7.30pm.

Also banned following incidents in a feisty clash at the New River Stadium last Saturday was Skolars second-row forward Lameck Juma, who picked up a one-match suspension for a grade ‘C’ dangerous contact offence.

Kibula and Morgan were similarly graded and suspended, Kibula for a high tackle and Morgan for dangerous contact.

The particular Kibula tackle in question looked innocuous from the main stand, but the recipient of the tackle was laid out and was finally taken off on a stretcher and ultimately to hospital.

Referee Andy Sweet consulted his touch judges and then put the incident on report, after which Kibula went on to show that he could handle the ball as well as drive it in with a series of smart offloads.

Incidentally, the top three in Betfred League One, Dewsbury Rams, Doncaster and Oldham in that order, are involved in two important games this weekend with Dewsbury at home to Rochdale this Friday and then Roughyeds at home to Doncaster on Sunday.
