WE did a story last week with pictures showing our brilliant club mascot, Roary, visiting Limehurst Lions where he donated training balls on behalf of Roary’s Pride and the YEDS Supporters’ Group, the joint donors.
This week it was the turn of Saddleworth Rangers to receive their training balls and Roary is featured in both a group picture with the young Rangers squad and on his own with two of them, Jaxson Cadwallader and Kobe Ford (in an Oldham RLFC replica jersey), grandson of Mike, Oldham RLFC’s managing director.
Mike said afterwards:
“It was a great night and well done to all concerned. It was great to see Roary there, representing Oldham Rugby, with all those kids from Rangers. We must never forget — and this applies to all our local clubs — that today’s young kids are tomorrow’s players, supporters, coaches, volunteer helpers etc.”
