Brierley and Thornton in 21 for Crusaders clash

TOMMY Brierley and James Thornton come into Stuart Littler’s 21 man squad for Sunday’s match against North Wales Crusaders, 3pm kick off.

The pair replace hooker Tom Forber and prop Josh Johnson, ahead of the game at the Vestacare Stadium.

Forber, who was included in the squad for last week’s postponed game against Workington, has since signed for championship side Widnes on a month-long loan.

New signing Josh Johnson misses out this week due to a commitment arranged prior to signing for the club.

Zac Baker and Jordan Paga are both unavailable due to suspensions picked up in the loss to Doncaster a few weeks back.

Roughyeds will be out to do the double over North Wales for the first time since 2019, after they beat Crusaders 18-4 earlier on in the season.

Carl Forster’s side are in good form, though, having lost just once in their last six and Crusaders will be hoping to solidify their spot in the play-offs with a win on Sunday.

It is a double header on Sunday, with our women’s side set to make their home debut against North Wales at 12:15pm.

Admission prices are £16 for adults, £10 for concessions (65 and over), £5 for students and FREE for under-16s, which includes both games.

Elsewhere, Sam Bardsley is set to feature for London Skolars this weekend after having joined the Haringey-based side on a two-week loan.

Squad in full: Ah Van, Blagbrough, Brierley, Cameron, Carr, Hartley, Hirst, McNally, Meadows, Moran, Morgan, Nelmes, Newton, Rawsthorne, Ridyard, Slater, Thornton, Tyrer, Whittel, Wilkinson, Wilson
