Harrington and Kershaw step down from director roles

Oldham RLFC must sadly announce that Mick Harrington and Gary Kershaw have stepped down from their roles as club directors with immediate effect.

Both have worked tirelessly for the club over the last few months and played key roles in securing the takeover of the club and establishing the new management structure. Mick and Gary have made the decision to leave so that they can each focus on their own businesses and families.

The remaining board of directors would like to put on record their appreciation of everything that Mick and Gary have done for the club over the last few months. They will forever be an integral part of the Oldham RLFC story and we thank them for their passion and wholehearted commitment to the club.

Chairman Bill Quinn said,

‘Today sees the departure of our two board members and friends who have both been instrumental in helping to create and build our club. Although it’s a sad day, it shows what integrity they have in taking this decision to help the club to progress even further, as both have other commitments, they felt it was the right decision for all and most of all the club. They will always have a place at ORLFC and myself and the board would like to wish them both every success in the future. We know we will continue to see them cheering the team on. We would like to thank them both from all at Oldham RLFC’.

Mick Harrington said,

‘I’m very proud to have played a key part in the club’s new start. Having the responsibilities of a young family and my own business, it’s just not the right time for me to continue. However, I will continue to support the club at what is an exciting time for Oldham RLFC’

Gary Kershaw added,

‘I look back on the last few months with great satisfaction of what has been achieved. Now is the right time for me to focus on my own business, family, and other interests. I wish everybody at the club the very best of luck for the rest of the season and beyond as we move back to Boundary Park’.

The departures leave a board consisting of Mike Ford (Managing Director), Bill Quinn (Chairman & Director), Jim Minton (Finance Director), Haydn Walker (Director) and Simon Winnard (Director).
