OUR end-of-season Awards Night will be something special — more of that at a later date — but suffice to say here that Mike Ford and Joe Warburton are trying to track down and contact each member of the team, plus the coaching and backroom team, that beat Hull KR 30-29 at Old Trafford at the end of the 1989-90 season to win the Second Division Premiership Final and to crown a magnificent season which earned Roughyeds a Civic Reception.
There will be an emotional reunion of that side at the White Hart, Lydgate when players, ex-players, club officials and fans celebrate anything the club achieves this season, plus the usual individual
Awards, plus the purchase of the club a few months ago and the ultimate return to Boundary Park.
The side that came from 29-6 down to snatch an amazing win in The Theatre of Dreams lined up like this:

Those names include no fewer than SEVEN locals, namely Henderson, Ford, Casey, Russell, Watkins, Hodgson and Rowe.
Some members of the team live on the other side of the world, like stand-off Brett Clark and forward Charlie McAlister but there are plans to have big-screen video links with them as we endeavour to bridge the gap between the Oldham of 30 years ago and the Oldham of today.
