ROUGHYEDS have moved to secure Jordan Paga at Boundary Park until the end of the 2025 season.
A key member of the squad last year, Paga’s performances earned him the Supporters’ Player of the Year trophy at the club’s recent awards evening.
To sign again was an easy decision for Jordan, who the club signed from Hunslet.
“After speaking with Mike (Ford) and hearing about his dreams for the club and how he wants the club to go far, I jumped on board and signed straight away,” said Paga.
“Since I signed for the club last year, it has felt like home. I had a great season in 2023, and the coaches were amazing.
“My game has been brought on a lot since I arrived at Oldham.
“I’m very excited by the vision of the club and there’s a lot of things being done behind the scenes.
“I can’t wait to get out there and show everybody what we are doing and how far we can go.”
Paga quickly became a fan favourite with his uncompromising tackles, relentless kick chases, and try-scoring abilities.
His ever-elusive running style meant he caused huge problems for League One defences during the campaign just gone.
The Yorkshireman featured, primarily, in the scrum-half position last season, but he is equally capable of operating in the hooker and full-back positions.
Ahead of the 2023 campaign Paga was handed the number 19 shirt but was soon one of the first names on the teamsheet, during his breakout year with Roughyeds.
He made 17 appearances and scored 12 tries — four of which came in his league debut with Oldham in the 62-18 victory over London Skolars — during the season just gone.
Jordan follows George Hirst and Nick Rawsthorne in staying at the club with more new signings and retentions to follow.
