Congrats to St Annes in the U14s Cup Final

CONGRATULATIONS to St Anne’s Golds who beat Saddleworth 14-10 after extra time in the first of two tough games at Melrose in the Oldham Amateur League’s Junior Cup Finals, sponsored by Rugby Oldham.

Saints and Saddleworth under 14s were first on and it was 10-10 at full time with Saints snatching it in extra time. Player of the match was Eye Arube of St Anne’s.

In the under-15s final that followed, Mayfield beat Saddleworth 10-0 after Rangers had held the Rochdale lads 0-0 at half-time. Player of the match in this one was Noah Wilde of Mayfield.

Last Sunday at Melrose, Saddleworth beat Waterhead 28-6 in the under-12s final and Mayfield beat Limehurst Lions in the under-13s final.

Of the four age-group finals, therefore, Mayfield won two and Saddleworth and St Anne’s won one each. Congratulations to all concerned from Mike Ford and everyone at Oldham RLFC.
