Next Wednesday, November 15, at Oldham Crematorium, Roman Rd, Hollinwood OL8 3LU at 11.30am and afterwards at Middleton Masonic Hall. The Pavilion. 114 Manchester Old Road, Middleton OL24 4DY.

Proud to be a policeman, Roger rose through the ranks from a cadet in Lancashire County to a Superintendent in the Greater Manchester Force, thus surpassing his initial ambition to reach Chief Inspector. His treasured and revered police hat will be carried on the coffin.
Brought up in Glodwick, he was first taken to Watersheddings as a small boy and he remained a lifelong supporter of the club until he died, aged 80. in the Royal Oldham Hospital.
