TWO of the Oldham Junior Cup Finals took place at Melrose on Sunday and we are sorry to report that, in the under-12s final, Saddleworth v Waterhead, Saddleworth’s Seth Newton suffered a broken collarbone.
When Mike Ford found out, he invited Seth and his family to meet the Oldham squad and head coach Sean Long, who presented the youngster with a signed ball and a Roughyeds’ bobble hat.
Seth, his family and his Saddleworth team mates were very impressed by the club’s gesture, Seth saying he loved it and he wants to go to every Oldham game in the coming season.
