Roary looking good

OUR popular club mascot, Roary, a hit with people of all ages, but especially with young fans, looked smart and well-groomed after his pre-season makeover when he paraded around Boundary Park at the Rochdale game.

Sponsored by Spindles, he had enjoyed getting his new outfit for the derby clash and he was certainly a proud young lion who loved soaking up the adoration of a 1,600 crowd as he walked round the ground.

We are away at Swinton Lions this coming Sunday evening (6pm kick-off) in the Challenge Cup and the Sunday after we are away again at York in the quarter-final of the 1895 Cup. We won’t be back on home territory for quite a while but Roary has asked us to tell all young Oldham fans that if they happen to see him out and about in the town to make sure they say ‘hello’ and give him a wave.

Roary will be at Swinton on Sunday evening – if only to prove to them that they are not the only club with pride in lions – and he will also be at Spindles on Saturday for the Children’s Fun Day which runs from 1pm to 5pm.

If you will be at either of these events, don’t forget – say ‘hello’ and give him a wave!
