Oldham v Featherstone Rovers (Sunday, Bower Fold,3.00pm)
Oldham’s good run came to an end when they lost 14-6 at Whitehaven. Coach Scott Naylor said:
It was probably two teams at a similar level just going at it. We weren’t at our best and came out the wrong side of it. I think we were a little bit flat against Whitehaven after the previous three games, especially the Hull KR performance.
We’ve had a bit of time off this week and hopefully will come back nice and refreshed.
“Featherstone are a good side, they’ve got good half-backs and can cause you a lot of problems and we need to put in a performance like we did against Batley and Sheffield. We know how good they are but we seem to perform better at home for some reason so we’re hoping for one of those performances that we’ve had in recent weeks.
Second row Danny Langtree is a doubt with an ankle problem
Featherstone Rovers lost 30-24 at home to Leigh Centurions. Coach Jon Sharp said:
We had a scratch side out but I asked the players to play with emotion and some commitment to one another and the club. It was an important day; the first home game since Steve Quinn died and it was important to me and to the club that we acknowledged that and gave it everything we had and we certainly did that. The boys were fantastic and so were the fans.
We played Oldham in Round Four and I thought they were really good. They are a great attacking team with lots of threats. I’m not surprised that they’ve done really well and have had some good results recently.
Half-back Danny Craven is due to return this week.
