Results go our way

RESULTS today in the KP Championship all went our way, meaning that of the bottom six teams, only OLDHAM picked up two points this weekend.

Following our win at Sheffield on Friday night, Whitehaven were beaten at home by Batley 24 hours later and the relevant results today were as follows: Dewsbury 6, London Broncos 34; Featherstone 44, Workington 22; Swinton 12, Halifax 62.

Each team has three games left in the regular season plus another seven in the Championship Shield.

Games still to come in the regular season are as follows:

SWINTON (15 pts): Oldham (a), Dewsbury (a), Batley (h).

DEWSBURY (14 pts): Workington (a), Swinton (h), Leigh (a).

OLDHAM (12 pts): Swinton (h), Bradford (a), Workington (h).

SHEFFIELD (12 pts): London (a), Leigh (h), Whitehaven (a).

WHITEHAVEN (11 pts): Bradford (a), Workington (a), Sheffield (h).

WORKINGTON (5 pts): Dewsbury (h), Whitehaven (h), Oldham (a).

Describing our win at Sheffield as a “brilliant result”, coach Scott Naylor said: “We’re all looking forward to the rest of the season.

“We’ve got a great bunch of lads who want to do well for themselves, the club and the fans.

“Next up is Swinton at Bower Fold and we need to kick-on from our last two results and make it three in a row to keep the momentum going.”

The Swinton derby kicks off at 3pm next Sunday, July 10, and we certainly owe them one after losing 28-18 at their place in March and 25-24 when we met them again at Blackpool in Summer Bash.

The players deserve as much support as possible after their great efforts against Whitehaven and Sheffield.

Please spread the word around about Sunday’s game and if possible bring a friend to Bower Fold for what looks sure to be a cracking derby with a lot riding on it.
