ADAM Neal’s signing takes to 20 the number of players already contracted to Oldham RLFC for the club’s 20th anniversary season, which starts next February.
A programme of pre-season warm-up games will be staged in January, but details have not yet been announced.
The club has confirmed, however, that hooker Adam Files, back-row forward Will Hope and full-back Richard Lepori have left.
Said chairman Chris Hamilton: “For different reasons, they haven’t been offered new contracts, but we thank them for everything they’ve done for the club while they’ve been here, particularly Adam, who has been with us for four seasons.
“We wish them well for the future, wherever it might take them in or out of the game.”
Hope (Ireland) and Lepori (Italy) are currently playing in a 2017 World Cup qualifying competition in which Lepori scored four tries from the left-wing position in Italy’s 62-14 hammering of Serbia in Belgrade.
Oldham’s 2017 squad currently looks like this:
Backs: Jamel Chisholm, Danny Grimshaw, Scott Turner, Adam Clay, Kieran Gill (season-long loan), David Hewitt, Scott Leatherbarrow, Nathan Chappell.
Forwards: Phil Joy, Jack Spencer, Michel Ward, Danny Langtree, Liam Thompson, Kenny Hughes, Joe Burke, Sammy Gee, Craig Briscoe, Gareth Owen, Ben Davies, Adam Neal.
