Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth round draw

The draw for the sixth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup was conducted live on BBC News Channel’s Sportsday programme this evening (Tuesday, April 25).

Fresh from Sunday’s London Marathon, Keith Senior, who won the Cup in 1998 with Sheffield Eagles and featured in finals with Leeds Rhinos, drew the home balls. Four-time Challenge Cup winner and former St Helens favourite Chris Joynt picked the away balls.

Swinton Lions were drawn against record Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors after their dramatic late victory over Huddersfield Giants in round five.

After knocking out Leigh Centurions in the previous round, Hull Kingston Rovers will travel to Salford Red Devils in a repeat of the 2016 Million Pound Game.

All sixth round ties will be played over the weekend of May 13-14.

Over 22,000 viewers tuned in on Sunday to watch the stream of Whitehaven v Halifax and two sixth round games will be broadcast live on the BBC – fixtures chosen will be announced in due course.
