One match ban for Sammy

AFTER a delay while more evidence was collected, an Independent Operational Rules Tribunal met in Leeds on Monday night to discuss charges against Oldham’s Sammy Gee for striking (grade C) and Rochdale’s Lewis Galbraith for verbal abuse based on race and colour (grade F).

They arose from an incident near the end of the Summer Bash derby at Blackpool at the end of May.

Galbraith was found guilty and suspended for eight matches, while Gee pleaded guilty with mitigating circumstances and was banned for one game with a £75 fine
