Last week’s 17 plus Briscoe and Holmes

CRAIG Briscoe and Jack Holmes are added to the 17 who won at Workington last time out to form Scott Naylor’s 19-man squad for the visit of Newcastle Thunder to the Vestacare Stadium tomorrow (3pm kick off).

Squad: L_iam Bent, Danny Bridge, Craig Briscoe, Paul Crook, Dave Eccleston, Kieran Gill, David Hewitt, Jack Holmes, Luke Hooley, Kenny Hughes, Adam Jones, Phil Joy, Lee Kershaw, Danny Langtree, Luke Nelmes, Gareth Owen, Matt Reid, Jack Spencer, Matty Wilkinson.

As stated previously there are no dual-reg players involved, but three of the 19 are on loan, namely Luke Hooley, Lee Kershaw and Kieran Gill.

Hooley, a 19-year-old full-back, and Kershaw, an 18-year-old winger, are from Wakefield Trinity while centre Gill (22) is at Castleford Tigers. All three are full-time professionals and members of their clubs’ first-team squads.

With another warm and sunny day in prospect, Roughyeds hope local rugby league followers will turn up in numbers to support a side that scored six tries in winning impressively at Workington last week and can climb to within touching distance of the play-off group if they inflict Thunder’s first away defeat of the year.
