Stand-off Paul Crook took his career points tally beyond 2000 as Oldham notched up a 60-28 win away at Hemel Stags.
Temperatures soared at the Pennine Way Stadium but the energy sapping heat didn’t prevent Crook from scoring two tries and 10/10 conversions as the Roughyeds kept up their push for a play-off place.
Tries from Langtree (2), Reid, Hewitt, Spencer, Wilkinson and Kershaw (2) added to Crook’s brace and ensured an Oldham victory but the hosts put on a show of their own and were good value for their five tries and four goals.
The game—watched by a crowd of 109—marked the return of prop Adam Neal who hadn’t played since suffering a head injury against Keighley back in April.
