CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen Rogerson, who has won our Grand Final ticket competition and thus receives two tickets for Saturday evening’s Betfred Super League showdown between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves at Old Trafford.
All but four of the 43 entries gave the correct answer to the question we set which was to name a former Oldham RLFC chairman who was the grandfather of 2018 Super League Grand Final referee Robert Hicks.
The answer was the late Ken Fisher, who would have been hugely proud of what his grandson has achieved, and is still achieving, in the world of refereeing.
Of the 39 correct answers Stephen’s was the one drawn out of the hat so heartiest congratulations to him and best wishes for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
What we are sure will be another enjoyable evening for Roughyeds fans will be our 2018 season Players’ Awards Night which will be held at the Vestacare Stadium on Friday night, November 9, starting at 7.30pm.
It will be an opportunity for supporters to rub shoulders with the players and to recognise their sterling efforts during the season just ended.
It will be an informal, relaxed evening when supporters are encouraged to wear their replica shirts which they have worn with pride all year.
Tickets at £12.50, including a hot supper of pie and mash with extras, can be bought on-line via the Roughyeds online store.
Anyone wishing to buy by cash or cheque in person from the Roughyeds office at the Vestacare Stadium is advised to first ring Anne Kearns on 07811-988426 to make arrangements.
