HAVING signed nine players so far for 2019, Oldham will announce their latest capture at the club’s Awards Night on Friday.
Their may be another signing before then, but the club says it expects to be in a position to update fans with the latest squad-building news when the 2018 group assembles at the Vestacare Stadium on Friday night for the awards event.
Up to now it has been announced that six players from last season have re-signed — backs Dave Hewitt and Paul Crook and forwards Matty Wilkinson, Liam Bent, Jack Spencer and Luke Nelmes — and three newcomers have arrived in centre Danny Grimshaw, second-row Ben Calland and full-back Richie Hawkard.
Grimshaw was at Oldham in the Championship seasons of 2016 and 2017, but he left to go back to his former club, Hunslet, in the season that ended recently.
Only a few tickets remain for the Awards Night so fans wishing to be there need to get them quickly, either by booking online or paying by cash or cheque at the Roughyeds office.
They are priced at £12.50 which includes a pie-and-mash supper with vegetarian option.
Fans are being encouraged to wear their replica shirts.
The office will be open today (Wednesday) and on Friday (10am to 3pm each day), but you can ring Anne Kearns ANYTIME on 07811 988 426 regarding Awards Night tickets, season tickets or what’s left of last season’s replica merchandise, which is now on offer at HALF PRICE.
“We don’t have a lot of merchandise left but it’s going at bargain prices and it’s all there to be looked at and tried on in the office when fans come in for Awards Night tickets.
“Once the Awards Night is out of the way we’ll start pushing the ‘back the boys’ season-ticket initiative, but anyone can buy season tickets immediately if they go online or drop into the office with cash or cheque.”
