FOLLOWING this morning’s Captain’s Run at the Vestacare Stadium, Oldham have announced a late change in the 19-man squad to play Swinton Lions at Heywood Road, Sale tomorrow (3pm kick-off)
It was thought that Danny Grimshaw would be in the squad for the first time after hamstring trouble, but he has since been replaced by Zack McComb.
Showing impressive pre-season form, centre McComb scored two tries in the 24-10 win at Barrow and another in last Sunday’ s 24-8 Law Cup triumph against Rochdale Hornets.
Revised squad tomorrow:
Bent, Bowman, Brook, Calland, Greenwood, Hawkyard, Hewitt, Holmes, Jones-Bishop, Joy, Kershaw, Law, Maders, McComb, Nelmes, Owen, Spencer, Whittel, Wilkinson.
Across their games against Barrow and Rochdale, in-form Roughyeds have scored nine tries in total and conceded only four.
Three of those were direct from kicks and the fourth was a long-range breakaway at Barrow when an Oldham attack broke down deep inside the Barrow half.
Try scorers so far: McComb (3), Bowman, Calland, Greenwood, Holmes, Law and Wilkinson.
It’s a shared gate at Heywood Road tomorrow so fans who make the short trip to Sale will not only be backing the team on the field but will be contributing vital funds to the Oldham club.
It’s pay on the gate, £14 adults, £10 concessions, £3 juniors, all including the option of standing or sitting under cover in the main stand.
