Community clubs urged to make a date with Ronseal and England Rugby League

Community Rugby League clubs across England are being given a unique opportunity – a 2020 makeover from Ronseal, the country’s most trusted and reliable woodcare brand, with hands-on support from England Rugby League stars.

Ronseal, in partnership with England Rugby League, is launching ‘Fix up your club’ – an innovative way of lending a helping hand to the grassroots game. Two community clubs will win a free DIY day involving the Ronseal team and two England internationals.

For each of the two clubs chosen it promises to be a fantastic experience for club members, supporters and the wider community, with opportunities to meet world class players as well as to get premises spick-and-span for the Spring.

Kristie Blackford-Mills, Brand Manager at Ronseal UK, said:

“We are delighted to launch Fix Up Your Club, our first major initiative with the RFL. We set ourselves the goal of finding a partner aligned with our core values of performance, durability and integrity, and we believe this activation perfectly brings together those values that we share with the RFL by allowing us to give back to our core fans. It is very exciting to now begin the process of sounding out those two clubs.”

RFL Head of Partnerships, Bobby Bahadori adds:

“Ronseal is a well-known and trusted brand which, like Rugby League, has always remained true to its grassroots, so we are delighted that the company is demonstrating its commitment to Rugby League – and in particular the community game.

“The Ronseal team will come down to your club to give it the DIY job it deserves. Plus, they will bring with them two international England Rugby League stars to lend a hand.

‘Fix up your club’ day will be a fun day for all the family, so get your applications in now!”

Any community club in England in need of a makeover can apply by downloading a form from www.rugby-league.com/fixupyourclub. Competition closes on 19 January 2020.

The Rugby Football League announced a four-year deal with Ronseal in July 2018, the woodcare brand’s first foray into sports sponsorship. The deal sees the brand feature on the playing shirts of the England Men’s, Women’s, Knights, Wheelchair, Academy and Youth squads until the end of 2021, which includes the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

Ronseal provide a premium and wide-ranging selection of products to help you get a professional looking finish on your next DIY project. It does exactly what it says on the tin, so you can do exactly what you want to your home.

Club Cash Lottery

SINCE Covid-19 caused us to temporarily abandon door-to-door CLUB CASH lottery collections last Spring there's never been a better time to come on board and help Roughyeds to get through these hugely challenging times.

Why ? The £500-a-week rollover jackpot is back -- not only that there are now TWO £50 prizes and TWO £25 prizes in addition to the first prize of £1,000, a second prize of £100 and ten consolation prizes of £10.

But the return of the jackpot is the big lottery news. It's back this week and it's been won first time out, so next week's jackpot is again £500 but if nobody touches lucky it will go up to £1,000 the following week and increase by £500 a week, if not won, to a maximum of £10,000.

We have seriously missed the regular income from collections on the doorstep, but we cannot thank too much those supporters who have got behind the club in these unprecedented times of hardship by keeping their Club Cash memberships going or, indeed, by joining for the first time, knowing that for £1 a week they can help the club to combat Covid and prepare with confidence for the challenges of Betfred Championship rugby in 2021.

You can send a cheque to cover a set number of weeks; take out a bank standing order -- our preferred option; complete a bank transfer; or pay for several weeks up front by credit or debit card.

You can download a standing order form by clicking on the link at the end of this news release and following the instructions or you can contact our Club Cash administrator John McAndrew (tel: 07980 129541; email: mcandrewj@aol.com) or speak to the club direct on 07904 898177 or email to: enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk

he easiest way, though, is to download a standing order form below. The latest prize updates are shown on the form as follows (all for £1): £1,000, £100, £50 (2), £25 (2), a number of £10 consolation prizes and the £500-a-week rollover jackpot.

Best of luck!
