February Challenge Cup date for Oldham

AS a Betfred Championship club, Oldham will enter the 2020 Coral Challenge Cup campaign at the fourth round stage over the weekend of February 22 and 23.

It will be a welcome break from the rigorous demands of the Championship which will see them open up with tough calls against Widnes Vikings at home, Toulouse Olympique away and fellow Championship new boys Whitehaven away before the Challenge Cup tie at the end of the month.

Saddleworth Rangers, the only local community club representatives in the Challenge Cup, make the relatively short journey into Yorkshire to play Halifax side Siddal in round one over the weekend of January 11 and 12.

The first-round tie between Skirlaugh and Hunslet Club Parkside will be shown live on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport Online iPlayer and via the Red Button on Saturday, January 11(kick off 12.30pm).

And Our League members can watch the following day’s clash between the RAF and Bentley live at 1.30pm from RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

First-round ties will take place over the weekend of January, 11 and 12 with the second round scheduled for January 25 and 26 and the third for February 8 and 9 when semi-professional League 1 clubs enter the competition.

Championship clubs enter the fray two weeks later in round four, while four Super League clubs – Huddersfield Giants, Hull KR, Wakefield Trinity and Toronto Wolfpack – will enter at round five on the weekend of March 14 and 15.

BBC Sport and the Rugby Football League will each live stream one game from each of the first five rounds.

Matches shown by BBC will also be available on demand on iPlayer for 30 days. The remaining Super League clubs enter the competition at round six on the weekend of April 4 and 5, which is when matches will begin to be screened on BBC1 and BBC2.

The BBC will televise two quarter-finals on the weekend of 9-10 May, the two semi-finals on either 6 or 7 June and the Wembley Final on Saturday July 18.

Club Cash Lottery

In challenging times for businesses we are again stressing our urgent need for more financial support via the Club Cash lottery from both existing and new members.

With door-to-door collections temporarily abandoned, some have paid up front to cover a few weeks; moved to direct debit; or completed a bank transfer but the overall result has seen a drop in lottery income of nearly 50 per cent.

This trend is hitting all clubs and organisations and we have had to temporarily modify the weekly prize structure in line with the number of people taking part.

We still have a weekly first prize of £1,000 and other prizes of £100, £50 and £25 plus some £10 consolation prizes and we urgently and seriously need people to help us on this.

One way is to download a direct debit form here and follow the instructions.
