Want a lift to games at Bower Fold ?

Helping Us Help You!

Lend-A-Lift 2020

A new dawn, a new coach, new backroom staff, new players, new positivity and a new energy is flowing throughout the entire club.

With excitement building towards Oldham’s return to the Betfred Championship in 2020, the players are looking forward to pulling on the Roughyeds shirt; our objectives are clear; and your support is massively beneficial. We need you all at Bower Fold to support “your team”, writes JOHN DAVIES, a member of our management team.

Oldham RLFC is built up of players and staff but a club is nothing without its fabulous supporters. We have fans across the globe in Australia, New Zealand, Greece, America and Canada as well as lots of others across the UK and then the bulk of our support base living locally, naturally. We need you all in 2020.

The Championship takes us to Bower Fold, and with the support of our friends at Stalybridge Celtic we will make that tidy little ground, with all its first-class facilities, our home this year.

We at Oldham are conscious of our responsibility to reduce our carbon foot print and promote an “Eco-friendly” approach within our communities, Going green is an issue we take seriously and we are consistently looking at ways to operate in a manner that will protect, save and reduce the damage to our environment.

Oldham are thus excited to launch “Lend-A-Lift 2020”, the aim of which is to reduce our supporters’ carbon footprint but also, and equally importantly, to identify, promote and assist supporters in going to our home games at Bower Fold.

This community-focused approach will enable all supporters who wish to attend our games at Bower Fold the opportunity to do so.

Rugby League is the greatest sport on the planet and we are known for our family-friendly approach.

We at Oldham are committed to combating loneliness and addressing mental health issues in our communities. Loneliness impacts massively on people’s mental health and people within our communities suffer with mental health because they are lonely.

Club and Community can work together and “Lend-A-Lift 2020” will be scheme designed to promote togetherness with the intention of providing the opportunity for fans to support their team in 2020 at Bower Fold.

We would like you to register your interest with us if you:

  1. Require a lift to the match because you have no transport or don’t drive for whatever reason.
  2. Can offer a lift or lifts to a supporter in need.

By registering your interest at enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk, you will enable us to ensure that any fan who wishes to attend matches and support the club in 2020 has the opportunity to do so.

A club is its people so please help us to help you to support your team in 2020!

Club Cash

SINCE Covid-19 caused us to temporarily abandon door-to-door CLUB CASH lottery collections last Spring there’s never been a better time to come on board and help Roughyeds to get through these hugely challenging times.

Why? The £500-a-week rollover jackpot is back — not only that there are now TWO £50 prizes and TWO £25 prizes in addition to the first prize of £1,000, a second prize of £100 and ten consolation prizes of £10.

But the return of the jackpot is the big lottery news. It’s back this week and it’s been won first time out, so next week’s jackpot is again £500 but if nobody touches lucky it will go up to £1,000 the following week and increase by £500 a week, if not won, to a maximum of £10,000.

We have seriously missed the regular income from collections on the doorstep, but we cannot thank too much those supporters who have got behind the club in these unprecedented times of hardship by keeping their Club Cash memberships going or, indeed, by joining for the first time, knowing that for £1 a week they can help the club to combat Covid and prepare with confidence for the challenges of Betfred Championship rugby in 2021.

You can send a cheque to cover a set number of weeks; take out a bank standing order — our preferred option; complete a bank transfer; or pay for several weeks up front by credit or debit card.

You can download a standing order form by clicking on the link at the end of this news release and following the instructions or you can contact our Club Cash administrator John McAndrew (tel: 07980 129541; email: mcandrewj@aol.com) or speak to the club direct on 07904 898177 or email to: enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk

The easiest way, though, is to download a standing order form below. The latest prize updates are shown on the form as follows (all for £1): £1,000, £100, £50 (2), £25 (2), a number of £10 consolation prizes and the £500-a-week rollover jackpot.

Best of luck!
