Face-mask sales going all over the country

FIRST it was NHS tee-shirts, now its Oldham RLFC face masks (see image).

Roughyeds (our nickname) sent out a total of 164 specially commissioned tee-shirts in support of the NHS — 118 in the first wave and another 46 in the last few days.

Half the money raised from these sales will go to NHS charities.

Like the rainbow-coloured tee shirts before them, face masks are also going out to people all around the UK.

The latest batch of tee-shirts went overseas to Greece and Australia as well as to Huntly and Linlithgow in Scotland, Wakefield, Stockport, Chesterfield, Wigan and Helsby in Cheshire, plus a lot more to Oldham fans.

Sales of the shirt are now closed, but the sale of face masks has only just started and the early indications are that they will prove to be, at the very least, every bit as popular as the shirts.

Said club chairman Chris Hamilton: “It was great and very encouraging to sell 164 tee-shirts in recognition of the NHS’s wonderful work during COVID-19 and now we’re getting plenty of orders for Oldham Rugby face masks, which are also coming in from far and wide.”

They are priced at £1.99 each, or three for £5, and there’s a £1 charge for postage and packing

They are re-usable and fully machine washable. They feature the club crest over the mouth and have straps that hook over the ears. They are adult sizes only.

We are expecting delivery in 14 days.

Club Cash Lottery

In challenging times for businesses we are again stressing our urgent need for more financial support via the Club Cash lottery from both existing and new members.

With door-to-door collections temporarily abandoned, some have paid up front to cover a few weeks; moved to direct debit; or completed a bank transfer but the overall result has seen a drop in lottery income of nearly 50 per cent.

This trend is hitting all clubs and organisations and we have had to temporarily modify the weekly prize structure in line with the number of people taking part.

We still have a weekly first prize of £1,000 and other prizes of £100, £50 and £25 plus some £10 consolation prizes and we urgently and seriously need people to help us on this.

One way is to download a direct debit form here and follow the instructions.
