Roughyeds can confirm that all matters relating to 2020 season ticket holders have now been dealt with and wish to place on record the club’s heartfelt thanks to the overwhelming majority of fans who have donated their remaining season ticket money back to the club.
Chairman Christopher Hamilton said:
“There is no doubt that Covid-19 has affected everybody, but the way our fans and sponsors have got behind the club has been quite humbling. An overwhelming majority of fans chose to donate their remaining money back to help the club through this incredibly difficult period which for us, potentially, could be going on without crowds until April.
“Even the few who have chosen to take a refund have pledged their support next year — and we are only too well aware that everybody’s circumstances are different.
“To our loyal fans and sponsors I would like to say how grateful we are for your help and support and, as fans have already seen with the squad we are building for next season, we will be doing out utmost to provide you with a group of players who will bust a gut to reward your faith in us.
“We are hoping to provide an update on playing matters soon and as you will have seen from the recent RFL statement on the 2021 season, clubs, coaches and players, like you, are desperate to get back playing as soon as possible.
“The situation for the club remains a concern as it could be potentially 12 months without trading by the time we are able to get back to playing matches.
“In the meantime, anything you can do to help WILL make a difference whether that be buying merchandise or joining the club lottery, which still remains at much lower levels than pre Covid.”
You can join the lottery via the website and for just £1 a week you can win £1,000, £100, £50, £25 or a consolation £10 in a draw that takes place every Wednesday. Results go on the website soon afterwards.
Due to Covid, we are not doing door-to-door collections at present, but the lottery is still going on. To have a chance you’ve got to be in it though and you can be in there with a shout if you arrange to pay by standing order (our preferred option); or do a bank transfer; or pay a set sum up front by debit or credit card; or even pay by cheque.
