Sponsors Back on Board for 2021

OLDHAM RLFC is delighted to report more good news on sponsorship — a crucial part of the business at any time but especially so right now in these times of unprecedented financial hardship.

Following the lead set by our main sponsors, CDX Security, who have not only committed again for 2021 but have told us they won’t be seeking a refund for the ‘lost’ 2020 season, other companies have followed suit, including the Property Buying Company and Purpose Business and Marketing.

Based in Warrington, CDX Security confirmed in August that they would be our main backers again next year. This outstanding family business, a national leader in the supply of security services across the UK, supported Roughyeds with various sponsorships in 2019 and then became the club’s main sponsor this year.

Property Buying Company and Purpose Business and Marketing will also be right behind us again as we strive to make our mark in the Betfred Championship with a new-look squad in 2021.

One of the UK’s leading property buying companies, PBC is owned and managed by property professionals with more than 50 years of combined experience in England and Wales.

David Slater, chief operating officer, said:

“We are very happy to continue our sponsorship of Oldham RLFC. In the current state of the world it’s good for businesses to stick together in their support of clubs which are a massive part of their local communities.

“We hope to see Oldham continuing to progress, moving forward on the field and growing the business. We are proud to support the club.”

The managing director of Purpose Business and Marketing, Julie Collins, needs no introduction to Oldham fans. She’s not only a supporter herself, but she serves on the volunteer management team that beavers away in the background to assist the club’s owner, chairman and chief executive Chris Hamilton.

Purpose Marketing — slogan, ‘Your purpose is our passion’ — is a marketing agency offering the skills, expertise and technologyto grow, develop and market a client’s business.

In this case the sponsorship is offered on two levels — 1, financial and 2, practical, in terms of marketing support, programme production and assistance in other directions.

Said Julie:

“It’s been a difficult year for everybody and a challenge for all businesses but there was never any question of us asking for a 2020 refund.

“I’m really excited about the squad that’s being built and the direction in which the club is moving. Chris deserves a massive compliment for keeping the club going and both he and Matt should be applauded for the squad they’re building.

“We are not a large business, but I love rugby league and I love the Oldham club and Purpose Business and Marketing is proud and happy to continue our support.

“Whatever the company does for the club it doesn’t cost the club a penny.”

Said chairman Chris Hamilton:

“The club is extremely grateful to both companies, whose great support makes a real difference, especially during this current Covid crisis. We really appreciate the support of sponsors and season-ticket holders in these times of unprecedented hardship.”

Club Cash

SINCE Covid-19 caused us to temporarily abandon door-to-door CLUB CASH lottery collections last Spring there’s never been a better time to come on board and help Roughyeds to get through these hugely challenging times.

Why? The £500-a-week rollover jackpot is back — not only that there are now TWO £50 prizes and TWO £25 prizes in addition to the first prize of £1,000, a second prize of £100 and ten consolation prizes of £10.

But the return of the jackpot is the big lottery news. It’s back this week and it’s been won first time out, so next week’s jackpot is again £500 but if nobody touches lucky it will go up to £1,000 the following week and increase by £500 a week, if not won, to a maximum of £10,000.

We have seriously missed the regular income from collections on the doorstep, but we cannot thank too much those supporters who have got behind the club in these unprecedented times of hardship by keeping their Club Cash memberships going or, indeed, by joining for the first time, knowing that for £1 a week they can help the club to combat Covid and prepare with confidence for the challenges of Betfred Championship rugby in 2021.

You can send a cheque to cover a set number of weeks; take out a bank standing order — our preferred option; complete a bank transfer; or pay for several weeks up front by credit or debit card.

You can download a standing order form by clicking on the link at the end of this news release and following the instructions or you can contact our Club Cash administrator John McAndrew (tel: 07980 129541; email: mcandrewj@aol.com) or speak to the club direct on 07904 898177 or email to: enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk

The easiest way, though, is to download a standing order form below. The latest prize updates are shown on the form as follows (all for £1): £1,000, £100, £50 (2), £25 (2), a number of £10 consolation prizes and the £500-a-week rollover jackpot.

Best of luck!
