ROUGHYEDS wish it to be known that the club is fully supportive of the massive sporting boycott of social media this Bank Holiday weekend.
Like many other clubs and governing bodies, including the RFL, Super League Europe, RLWC2021 and the Rugby League Players’ Association, Roughyeds will withdraw from all their social media platforms from 3pm Friday to 11.59pm on Monday.
This will underline Oldham RLFC’s solidarity with everyone else involved in the boycott and add our club’s voice to the message that nobody should have to suffer abuse, racism or harassment on social media.
Apologies to anyone who might be inconvenienced by our boycott, but please acknowledge that we are doing our bit to back a very worthy cause and one that deserves the support of people the world over, both inside and outside the world of sport.
The service we provide to supporters on our Roughyeds website will NOT be affected by the boycott; only social media.
