At the request of the RFL, and ahead of Sunday’s important clash with Dewsbury Rams at Bower Fold, we are pleased to re-affirm our support for the Tackle-It campaign against any form of discrimination and racism.
We remind supporters of the significance of the Tackle-It message, which has been highlighted by all teams over the last few months with a 13-second display of solidarity before the start of games.
At Bower Fold we have tended to show respect in silence, but the RFL point out that, as some clubs and their supporters are already doing, it would be appropriate for fans to applaud the players when they line up to present their 13-second message of support for the Tackle-It campaign.
The 13-second line-up involves the whole game – men’s, women’s and wheelchair rugby league.
It is important that the players’ stands against racism are treated with respect and that the players feel comfortable in what they doing.
At Bower Fold, they have the full and total backing of the Oldham club and its supporters.
We will do all we can to eliminate any form of discrimination and, together, we will TACKLE-IT.
