NOT long now until we run out at the Vestacare Stadium again, this time against Lock Lane of Castleford in the second round of the Betfred Challenge Cup on Sunday evening at 6pm.
Under-16s again get in FREE and we’re expecting another great atmosphere inside the ground to emulate last Saturday evening’s friendly, after which fans went on our social media platforms to express their delight; to say how much they had enjoyed the whole experience; and to comment on the number of youngsters who were there and buying chips !

MATTHEW SALT: First time at Roughyeds for us. Brilliant game. The kids from Limeside Lions loved watching how the pros play. Roll on the cup match next Sunday.
CRAIG IAN HALSTEAD: Fantastic match, great performance first up. Well done boys.
JACK BUTTERWORTH: What I liked was the number of children in the ground with (young) parents. It seemed that in some cases the kids brought Mum and Dad rather than the other way round. The number of cartons of chips being eaten must have been a bonus. It reminded me of the Penny Rush at Sheddings, which can only be good.
CHRIS HAMER: Really promising start ! Strong-looking pack and backs who look like they might have some pace, with Restall looking a great threat at full-back. Clearly willing to work for each other. Good crowd too when considering time of day and weather.
ADRIAN ALEXANDER: Different team from last year - fitter, bigger, excellent half-backs, strong player in Tom Spencer. All gave a good account of themselves and have bought into the Oldham policy of teamwork, friendship, honesty, good skills, but also have two more months (to the start of the league campaign) to improve more. Very enjoyable evening with Ginny, Steve Hewitt, Ros Birch, Martin Murphy, Joe Warburton. Go, go, Yeds!
DAVID PYE: Very good run-out and brilliant atmosphere. Good attendance and vocal support. Very good entertainment for the money.
