The Oldham (Past) Players’ Association’s big annual social event, always held in the Spring, will be held this year at the White Hart, Lydgate on Thursday, May 12.
With more than 70 members and guests having already confirmed their attendance, the Association is booked in at the White Hart on the above date and officials hope for, and expect, a good turn-out with as many members as possible making a special effort to support the organisation that night.
Any member, or anyone else, who wishes to attend but who still hasn’t confirmed their attendance is asked to do so as soon as possible by ringing Joe on 07882848340.
The next meeting of the Association is on Monday, March 7 (7.45pm) at Springhead Liberal Club.
Phil Bradbury and Anita Halliwell represented the Oldham Amateur League at the last meeting .
The Standard Cup semi-final draw paired St Anne’s with Waterhead and Saddleworth with Mayfield, dates to be announced later.
The annual Masters match, a memorial for the late John Blair, will be played before the final.
The junior cup finals will be held at two venues, Waterhead staging the under-12s, under-13s and under-14s and Saddleworth Rangers hosting the under-15s, under-16s and under-18s.
Joe Warburton, Ray Hicks and John Watkins are to speak with Oldham RLFC chairman Chris Hamilton with regard to future sponsorship of Roughyeds’ home games and attendance of former players when Oldham are playing at the Vestacare Stadium.
