HOOKER Brad Jinks, who didn’t play against Wakefield or Lock Lane because of a leg injury, has now received the all-clear for action and he will be available for our behind-closed-doors run-out at Salford on Saturday.
Coach Stuart Littler will take a look at all his available players in this one, but thereafter selection will be on merit and places will have to be earned.
He said:
“I have stressed to the boys that, moving forward, every spot in the line-up will have to be earned. Performances on the training pitch and in games will determine who we pick.”
Of the 26-man squad, two forwards won’t figure at Salford — Jason Muranka due to head-injury protocols and our latest signing, prop Jack Arnold, who is still recovering from an appendix operation.
Salford Red Devils have a Super League date at Hull FC on Saturday so the line-up to face Roughyeds in what can best be classed as a glorified opposed training run-out will be mainly comprised of reserves and first-team fringe players who are not going to Hull.
Next up for Roughyeds after Saturday will be a fully-fledged pre-season friendly at Keighley Cougars on Sunday, March 6, kick-off 3pm — a dress rehearsal for our opening game in Betfred League One at the Vestacare Stadium on Sunday, March 27.
