Yeds' away-day travel plans start at Keighley

OUR new and exciting Supporters’ Group, YEDS, is planning to organise travel to away games this season, starting on Sunday week (March 6) when we go to Keighley (3pm kick-off) in a pre-season friendly.

With petrol and diesel prices going through the roof, YEDS hope for a lot of interest in their new away-day travel plans which they feel will bring fans together, help to create communal support and add to the experience of a Roughyeds’ away game.

YEDS’ transport to Cougar Park will leave from, and return to, the town-centre Fox and Pine at 18, Greaves St, Oldham, OL1 1AD, a real-ale establishment that’s said to be a delight for real-ale lovers.

The Fox & Pine are kindly opening at 11am for the YEDS party and food will be available for travelling fans before departure for Keighley.

Transport will arrive in Keighley at least one hour before the game and leave at least one hour after the game to allow enough time for fans to have a drink.

YEDS will be doing some rugby fund-raising cards on the coach (aka football cards) and hoping to bring as many fans together as possible to create some fan togetherness and get some noise created for the lads in red and white.

The Supporters’ Group 20, 32 & 53-seat coaches are prepared and ready, this is to provide flexibility on numbers. The more they get, the cheaper it will be.

  • (20 Seat: £23 return with food)
  • (32 Seat: £17 return with food)
  • (53 Seat: £11 return with food)

We are taking £10 deposits to book a place, with the rest due on the day.

There has been a good amount of interest in the trip so far and, as of now, YEDS are likely to fill a 20-seat coach making it £23 return per person, although there is time for that to change for the cheaper.

If it were £23, fans would pay £13 on the day but if the organisers can get enough interest, they will use the 32-seat bus and prices will be reduced to £17.

Payment can be made by card or cash.

Yeds members will get a discount on the day on production of their membership cards.

Included in the price are return travel, food pre-game and the often-undervalued togetherness, which can create a good atmosphere, noise and positive thinking.

Also, YEDS firmly believe that fans travelling with the new and sponsored supporters’ group will have a good time and a special experience both during the journey and at the ground when they arrive.

One of the organisers said: “We hope to get as many fans together as possible. Let’s all get together and cheer on the yeds!”.
