OLDHAM fans looking for Challenge Cup Final tickets can buy them direct from the Roughyeds club and save themselves £10 per ticket.
Our allocation of £30 tickets for Rugby League’s annual show-piece event in London — to be staged this year at the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, May 28 — will be offered to Oldham fans at £20 each if bought through the club.
Described as the best stadium in Europe, it is the third largest football stadium in England with a construction cost of £1billion.
London Skolars traditionally play a home league game on the night before the Challenge Cup Final — Friday Night Lights — and this year Roughyeds will be there, fully focused on bringing two precious points back to Oldham, but also hoping, with Skolars, to provide a compelling taster for fans attending the Final at the nearby Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the following day.
Doncaster Away
Preparations for this Sunday’s game at Doncaster began last night without our two loan lads from Wigan Warriors, Logan Astley and Tom Forber, who have been recalled by the Super League club.
“Both have given us great service, in their different ways, and we’ll miss them,”
said head coach Stu Littler.
Tommy Brierley’s knee injury has been confirmed as an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and he’ll be out for the season. Said Stu:
“All our thoughts are with him and will stay with him during his rehab. It’s extremely important we support him mentally.”
Liam Copland has been in great form as his replacement, but he has also joined the casualty list with damaged ligaments in his back — a first-half injury in last Sunday’s home win against Cornwall.
“We don’t know how long he’ll be out, but it’s a blow because he’s been such good form,” added Littler. “The good news is that Brad Jinks appears to have come through his first game back after groin trouble with no further problems.”
