Bob Pugsley dies

THANKS to a communication from the Oldham RL Players’ Association, it has come to our notice that former Roughyeds player Bob Pugsley has died peacefully, surrounded by his family.

A proud Welshman — very proud — Bob scored two tries in 14 senior games for Oldham in the 1958-59 and 1959-60 seasons.

Back then, Roughyeds were one of the top teams in Rugby League, having won the Championship in 1957 after being beaten in the 1955 Final and just to get anywhere near the senior side was an achievement in itself.

The sincere condolences of everyone at Oldham RLFC are extended to the Pugsley family.
