153-try Mike receives his heritage certificate

PROUD Welshman Mike Elliott, from Blaina, was presented with his personal Heritage certificate by a former Mayor of the borough, Ginny Alexander. in the Oldham RL hospitality suite at the game against Midlands Hurricanes.

Mike scored 153 tries in 446 appearances for the club between 1962 and 1979.

At the latest monthly meeting of the Players Assn, Heritage Trust leader Michael Turner said the certificate presentations had aroused tremendous interest already with certificates having been requested by former players in Australia, Scotland, Wales and the West Country.
